Lantmännen Aspen AB

We have delivered a customized filling line for alkylate fuel to Lantmännen Aspen AB. Alkylate fuel is an ATEX product with very high requirements, including requirements for ATEX-approved machines.

Special skills are required to design a line for this filling product because its chemical structure is unique. Generation of large quantities of gas places high demands on the equipment. The expertise lies in the ability to define requirements for the ventilation system to eliminate gas in the ATEX zone, and then design a machine that does not have any ignition sources. This is achieved by choosing the right design with the right materials.

In addition to the filler, capper and labeler, the line includes adjustments to Aspen’s material handling system at both ends of the line. The infeed consists of robotic depalletizing of the packages. The outfeed consists of elevators and conveyors to a palletizing station.

We have coordinated the entire line to ensure excellent performance throughout the process.

“Trepak was the first supplier we met who knew how to develop a line for alkylate petrol, ATEX-adapted. Our previous provider did not have the skills to develop a robust line for an ATEX environment. After line delivery, Trepak has also updated a previous line to a more robust ATEX line.

Trepak’s way of working in projects has made this project successful. Meetings during the project – the so-called “design audits” – made the issues transparent so that Aspen’s organization could influence these at an early stage. The training of Aspen’s staff was based on the developed manuals for the whole line.
