Filling line for alkylate petrol (ATEX) to Lantmännen Aspen AB.
We have delivered a customized filling line for alkylate petrol to Lantmännen Aspen AB, an ATEX product with very high standards – that is, a product that generates large amounts of gas.
Special skills are needed to design a line for this filling product because its chemical structure is unique. This places high demands on equipment. The expertise lies in knowing how to define what requirements the ventilation system should have to be able to eliminate gas in the ATEX zone, and then design a machine that doesn’t have any ignition sources. This is achieved by choosing the right design with the right materials.
As well as the filler, capper and labeller, the line contains adjustments to Aspen’s material managing system at both ends of the line. The feed consists of robotic depalleting of the packaging. The output consists of elevators and conveyors to a palletizing station.
We have coordinated the line to ensure excellent performance throughout the process.
Project manager Birger Agnetun, Lantmännen Aspen AB:
“Trepak was the first supplier we met who knew how to develop a line for alkylate petrol, ATEX-adapted. Our previous provider did not have the skills to develop a robust line for an ATEX environment. After line delivery, Trepak has also updated a previous line to a more robust ATEX line.
Trepak’s way of working in projects has made this project successful. Meetings during the project – the so-called “design audits” – made the issues transparent so that Aspen’s organization could influence these at an early stage. The training of Aspen’s staff was based on the developed manuals for the whole line.
Production output more than meets what was promised in the contract.
